Iwan has lived in Tioman for over 20 years and knows the sea around the island like the inside of his pocket.
He's climbed Gunung Kajang repeatedly and is a fully certified government-endorsed nature ranger, as well as being very versed in the island's flora and fauna.
Iwan has achieved almost mythical status in Tioman when behind the controls of any motorised vessel and has in this capacity saved many a boat, large and small, from the clutches of a Sumatra Squall. It comes as no surprise to learn that he's a fully qualified boatman.
